Fleurets History

Founded in the 1820's as a firm of licensed property brokers by John Beach Fleuret, in 1866 John was joined by his son and we became J B Fleuret & Son.

In 1899 the firm became Fleuret, Adams & Haxell and when Mr Adams retired, Mr Vine joined the partnership so becoming Fleuret, Haxell & Vine.

Fleurets then merged with JJ Orgill, Marks and Barley / Barker, Finch and Jordan in 1932 becoming Fleuret Haxell, Marks & Barley.

Going into the Second World War Fleurets was a six partner firm, but still with only a simple office in Bloomsbury Square.

Bloomsbury was the home of licensed property brokers and around 20 firms had their offices in Bloomsbury in the 1930's.

The war took its toll. The last member of the Fleuret family Alfred Harman Fleuret retired in 1945 leaving Fleurets only a 3 man partnership.

In 1950 we took over C G Anderson in Brighton and in 1952 the name changed again this time to Fleuret, Haxell, King & Shoard.

Fleurets played its part in the brewery merger and takeover mania in the 1960's and 1970's valuing 25 breweries in 25 years.

Throughout, the firm has always been known simply as Fleurets, the company name since 1978, with a board of Directors some of whom you might just recognise.

Today, Fleurets continues to offer our full portfolio of services across all areas of the leisure and hospitality industry in the UK.
