Red Oak Taverns acquires 18 Wadworth pubs
Red Oak Taverns has completed the purchase of a portfolio of 18 leased and tenanted pubs from Wadworth for an undisclosed sum. The pubs are all located in the south and south west and strengthen the strong regional bias of Red Oak's existing estate. Red Oak's enlarged estate comprises 179 pubs. Fleurets advised Red Oak's lender, OakNorth Bank Plc, on the acquisition.
Planning permission secured for Hatton Garden Hotel
Piercy&Company has secured planning permission for a new 146-bedroom boutique hotel in Hatton Garden, reports Boutique Hotelier. The eight storey hotel will form part of the wider development of the Victorian Ragged School Building, also creating a new housing block and 25,000 sq ft of workspace. Scheduled for completion in 2021, the site will be occupied by a 'leading European boutique hotelier'.
Deltic Group opens Eden in Manchester
Deltic Group has launched its Eden concept in Manchester's Printworks, reports Propel. The concept's first site opened in July in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth; followed by a Newcastle site. All three site occupy former Tiger Tiger units.
Brakspear report strong financials
Parent company of Brakspear, J T Davies & Sons, has reported a 12% increase in turnover to £31.8m, generating EDITDA of £8.7m. Furthermore, the brewer and pub operator reported profit before tax as £5.4m. The Caterer further reports that the 13-strong managed house division saw a £3.2m sales growth to £14.8m, largely attributed to new sites opened in 2017 and 2018.
Country Pub Group purchases two pubs
The Country Pub Group, an emerging pub group based in the south-west, has acquired two pubs, alongside revealing plans for expansion, reports The Morning Advertiser. The two pubs, previously owned by the Flatcappers pub group, are the Castle Inn in Bradford-on-Avon and Battleaxes in Wraxall.
Inception Group, operators of Cahoots, Bunga Bunga and Mr Fogg's amongst others, are set to open their latest site, The Ticket Hall & Control Room in London's Kingly Street in October, reports Propel.
