BrewDog to increase bar estate by 33 sites

BrewDog will increase its bar estate by 33 new sites this year, hitting 100 sites this summer. The Morning Advertiser reports that BrewDog's current estate stands at 84 sites worldwide, and this year will mark the first year that the company has opened more sites overseas than in the UK.

Honest Burger announces 7.9% increase in lfl sales

Honest Burgers' latest set of accounts has revealed that the Active Partners-backed chain has passed £30m in turnover. Sales increased from £22.5m to circa £31m in the year ending January 2019, whilst EBITDA increased to £4.2m from £2.9m during the year. Furthermore, Propel reports that like-for-like sales also increased by 7.9% as the company opened more sites in Piccadilly, Waterloo, Holborn, Picton Place and Bristol as well as its first Deliveroo Editions site in Swiss Cottage. Future openings include London Bridge, Manchester, Liverpool and Cardiff.

London Shuffle launches new Shoreditch bar

London Shuffle has launched a new shuffleboard bar in Shoreditch, Crazy Eight. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that the bar has a 60 person capacity and is available for both private hire and walk-ins. The bar is situated in the basement of London Shuffle Club's Ebor Street venue in Shoreditch.

Premier Inn opens Zip in Cardiff

Premier Inn has opened its first Zip branded hotel in the Roath district of Cardiff. The Caterer reports that the new budget brand offers small pod rooms starting at £19 a night as well as large communal areas.

Bravo Inns to open pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme

North west pub operator Bravo Inns is set to open the former Albion pub on the High Street of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Propel reports that the property is currently undergoing a refurbishment and will reopen before Easter. The pub will be re-named Mitchell's to honour the creator of the Spitfire, Reginald Mitchell, who was born in Butt Lane.

Plas Maenan Country House in Wales' Conwy Valley has reopened under the new ownership of first-time hotel owner Jane Harris, the director of Jagel Enterprises Ltd, reports Boutique Hotelier. Lesley Watmough from Fleurets brokered the transaction. The luxury Edwardian hotel has nine bedrooms and has undergone a refurbishment. Jane's journey is currently being filmed for a Channel 4 documentary, which will air later on in 2019.
