Confidence in Covid safety 'highest it has been'

Consumer confidence about how safe guests feel in hospitality venues has risen to the highest levels in the past year, new research of more than 400 consumers has found. According to HGEM's Consumer Survey Insights report, which citied information from the insight company's Covid Safety Tracker, the average safety score is now 8.34 out of 10 - up from 7.9 in September, 7.19 in July and has been slowing rising since October 2020, reports Morning Advertiser.

Listed companies to be required to publish net zero transition plans

Listed hospitality companies will be among those required to publish net zero transition plans that detail how they will adapt and decarbonise, under proposals announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak. The announcement forms part of the Chancellor's plan for the UK to be the 'world's first net zero aligned financial centre'. Majority of customers want sanitising stations to become a permanent fixture

Most consumers want to see hand sanitising station become a permanent feature in hospitality venues, a new study shows. A survey of 500 UK adults on behalf of Food Alert found that two in three people agreed hospitality hygiene standards have become more important to them since the pandemic began, reports The Caterer. In addition, more than half wanted venues to have 'extreme hygiene measures' clearly in place.

Portobello snaps up former Antic pubs

Portobello Brewery has announced the acquisition of 12 freehold pubs it had been managing across the London area reports Morning Advertiser. Working in partnership with Zetland Capital to create an acquisition platform called Portobello Starboard, the company has acquired the pubs from a range of sources, including the former Antic sites, all of which were backed by investment fund Downing LLP. The move takes the Portobello estate to 16 sites.
