Liberation Group increase their estate by 42% in 2017

Liberation Group has increased their estate by 42% this year, having bought 10 new sites. Their portfolio now totals 34 sites having acquired four pubs in the West Country for their Butcombe pub estate. The Morning Advertiser announced the pubs as Wiltshire's Tavern in Melksham, the Horse & Groom Inn in Malmesbury and the Quarrymans Arms in Box as well as the Royal Oak in Prestbury, Gloucestershire.

First north eastern site for Bistrot Pierre

Bistrot Pierre is set to open its first north eastern site this week in Middlesbrough, according to Propel Info. The new operation is located on Albert Road, underneath the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and will receive a £1m investment. The private equity-backed restaurant group currently operates 21 sites and intends to open another site in Southport later in the year.

North Greenwich hotel development site acquired by Nine Group

Nine Group is a operator and owner group and as part of their rapid expansion the group has announced an acquisition of a development site next to the O2 Arena, Greenwich Peninsula hotel. Janet Harmer from The Caterer reported that the site was originally acquired by Conqueror Holdings Limited, who fell into administration. The hotel is intended to operate in the three-star market and planning permission has been submitted to extend the 50-bedroom hotel which is currently under construction.

Sports Bar & Grill acquired by Stonegate Pub Company

The Morning Advertiser has reported that Stonegate Pub Company has acquired the Sports Bar & Grill concept, strengthening their property estate in London and also increasing their total sites to 703. This transaction marks Stonegate's first move into London transport hubs.

Chopstix set to open three new sites

Eat Out Magazine has reported that Chopstix, the noodle bar, are set to open three new sites in the coming six weeks. The three locations are Manchester's Arndale Centre, Brunel Centre in Swindon as well as Ipswich's Sailmakers Centre; which will bring Chopstix's total estate to 25 sites.

Paul Charity at Propel Info has reported that Deltic Group has launched Atik nightclub in Hull in the former Sugar Mill premises. Deltic Group currently has 58 clubs and late-night venues across the UK. The Princes Dock site in Hull underwent a £1.1m refurbishment.
