Yorkshire hotels added to Choice Hotels' portfolio

The Caterer has reported that Choice Hotels has added four new Yorkshire properties to its UK portfolio. One of the largest hotel companies globally, Choice Hotels owns in excess of 6,500 hotels across the globe, 28 of which are in the UK. Three of the four Yorkshire properties are part of the Cedar Court Hotels independent hotel collection. The 149-bedroom Cedar Court Wakefield, the 131-bedroom Cedar Court Bradford as well as the 113-bedroom Cedar Court Huddersfield have become part of Choice's Clarion Collection, a group of full-service four-star hotels. The fourth hotel is Cedar Court Harrogate hotel, possessing 100 bedrooms, which joins Choice Hotels' Ascend Hotel Collection.

Bourne in Lincolnshire is set to receive a new £1.5m JD Wetherspoon pub

The pub will occupy the former Jenny May and Wands shops in North Street, having been granted permission by the South Kesteven District Council, reports Propel Info.

Loungers set to launch new Abingdon site

Occupying the former Wildwood site, Loungers will launch a new venue in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, next month. Propel Info reports that the Lion Capital backed company will launch Pablo Lounge on the 7th March on Bury Street.

Roomzzz set to launch another Manchester site

Aparthotel chain, Roomzzz is set to open its second Manchester site, reports Propel Info. The new development will see a 114 apartment development introduced to the Corn Exchange, opening later this month. This opening will mark Roomzzz's eight site, with plans to open new aparthotels in Liverpool, Edinburgh, York and Harrogate.

Renamed Shepherd Neame pub set to reopen

Pub and Bar magazine has reported that The Anchor in Yalding, Kent, a Shepherd Neame pub, is set to reopen at the end of April. The pub will be renamed The Boathouse and undergo a £1.2m refurbishment. The refurbishment will include the introduction of a glass fronted restaurant capitalising on the pub's river views.

Propel Info has reported that Adventure Leisure is set to open its indoor golf brand, Mr Mulligan's in Newcastle on the 16th February. Occupying a former Co-op on Newgate Street, Newcastle marks the first city site for Adventure Leisure. The golf concept offers three courses as well as bar and restaurant offering.
