Easyhotel open two Yorkshire hotels

"Super budget" hotel chain, Easyhotel, has opened its first two Yorkshire sites, bringing the group's portfolio to 32 hotels globally. The first is a 94-bedroom hotel in Leeds city centre, occupying the former Scala Theatre built in 1922; and secondly a 131-bedroom hotel in Sheffield which is occupying a former Primark. Propel Info reports that additional openings this year are planned for Ipswich and Barcelona.

Brewhouse & Kitchen open in Horsham

Brewhouse & Kitchen has opened their latest site in Horsham, West Sussex. As reported by The Morning Advertiser, Brewhouse & Kitchen now has 22 sites across the UK, having opened in Hoxton this summer. The company is also set to open another site in Portsmouth this autumn, which is where the company was founded in 2011.

Wetherspoon reports 5% uplift in like-for-like sales

JD Wetherspoon has announced its full year results for the year end 29th July 2018, demonstrating a 5% increase in like-for-like sales as well as a 2% uplift in revenue to £1.69bn. Pub and Bar Magazine reported that JD Wetherspoon's food sales have almost doubled in the last ten years.

Memsahib Gin & Tea Bar to open in Cheltenham

The owners of East India Cafe in Cheltenham Spa will open Memsahib Gin & Tea Bar in Cheltenham in mid-October. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that the new site will offer afternoon Chai tea, a selection of 55 globally-sourced gins as well as its own in-house distilled gin and light snacks.

The Inn Collection acquire Waterhead Hotel

The Inn Collection, a North East pub and hotel group, has acquired the 24-bedroom Waterhead Hotel in the Lake District, off a guide price of £2m. The acquisition marks the group's ninth site and first property in the Lake District, joining properties in Durham, Seaton, Newton-Under-Roseberry, Alnwick, Blyth, Seahouses and Holy Island. Boutique Hotelier reports that the Inn Collection is also currently building a £4m pub and hotel in Amble, Northumberland.
