Laine Pub Company to acquire Urban Art Bar

Laine Pub Company is set to acquire Urban Art Bar, a Birmingham pub group founded by Graham Smith. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that Urban Art Bar comprises three freehold pubs: the Wagon & Horses in Digbeth as well as The Lord Clifden and the Red Lion both in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. This acquisition marks Laine Pub Company's first acquisition outside of Brighton and London and is expected to complete at the end of April.

The Stratford Brasserie to open in Manhattan Loft Gardens

The Stratford Brasserie, an all-day dining restaurant, is set to open in the Manhattan Loft Gardens, situated in East London. The Caterer reports that the restaurant will be led by head chef Ben Harrington, formerly of Soho House Group as well as Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's; and is due to open in May.

Inn Collection Group to double portfolio

As reported by Boutique Hotelier, Inn Collection Group, the Alchemy-backed pub company in the North of England, which provides high quality contemporary pubs with rooms, has announced plans to double its portfolio by 2020. Having appointed Claire Burgess as its chief finance officer, the company are seeking new build or acquisition opportunities in Yorkshire, the Lake District as well as the North East.

New bar and restaurant in Manchester from directors of Junkyard Golf

Mat Lake, Bart Murphy and Lyndon Higginson, the directors behind Junkyard Golf, are set to open a new bar and restaurant venture on the former Folk & Soul, a vegan café in Manchester. Partnering with Dan Morris, a former operations director for Cottonpolis and group manager of Trof, the new venture is to be called Wilderness Bar and Kitchen. Propel reports that the bar and restaurant is anticipated to open in mid-June.
