The team behind Burger & Lobster to open new concept

The team behind Burger & Lobster is set to open a new Mediterranean concept. Propel reports that the concept will be known as Wild Tavern, with its first site opening in London's Sloane Square.

The Alchemist's turnover exceeds £40m

The 16-strong bar and restaurant concept, The Alchemist, has increased its turnover by 19% to £41,031,836 for the year ending 31st March 2019, reports Propel. Operating profit also increased to £1,741,574, whilst pre-tax losses narrowed to £205,372. The Alchemist also announced that they had been approached by several landlords as they build their 2020 pipeline and beyond. The company secured a Cheltenham site last month and new openings are planning for London, Cardiff, Birmingham and Portsmouth.

Indico to launch second restaurant in Birmingham

Indico, the Indian street food concept, is set to launch its second site. The Caterer reports that the first site is in Shirley, near Solihull; whilst the second will open in Birmingham's Mailbox this autumn.

Hotel and co-working concept to open in Cornwall

A new hotel is set open in a Cornwall co-working space. The project, C-Space, will offer 30 bedrooms as well as food and drink residencies, alongside co-working space. The Caterer reports that this is planned to be the first venture in a group of venues.

Second site for Libertine Burger

Libertine Burger, the Warwickshire-based burger concept, is opening a second site. Propel reports that the existing restaurant is in Leamington Spa and the new unit will be opening at The Swan Centre in Rugby.

Bedfordshire family brewer, Charles Wells has purchased The Oliver Cromwell in St Ives, a charming 18th Century property. The vendors, Ms Jayne Tamblin and Mr Jerry Schonfeldt, will remain at the pub for a further six months in order for a suitable tenant to be secured. Gareth Hatton of leisure property specialist Fleurets brokered the transaction.
