Oakman Inns announce strong trading results

Oakman Inns has announced annual sales in excess of £40m in its trading update, reports The Morning Advertiser. For the period ending 30th June 2019, like-for-like sales were also up by 4.8%, with total sales of almost £10.8m for this quarter.

Butcombe Brewery to open Bath boutique hotel

Butcombe Brewery are set to open a boutique hotel and café-bar concept, Broad Street Townhouse, in Bath on the 23rd July, reports Propel. The grade II listed property, which dates back to 1885, will host 11 en suite bedrooms and a café, which becomes The Blind Pig speakeasy by night.

Elephant Park welcomes Koi Ramen and The Tap In

Koi Ramen, the Japanese noodle bar, is set to open in the Elephant Park development in Southwark. Furthermore The Tap In, a craft beer concept, has also been confirmed, reports Big Hospitality. Elephant Park is a £2.3bn mixed-use regeneration scheme run by Southwark Council in partnership with Lendlease.

Joseph Holt to open microbrewery at Manchester airport

Manchester-based brewery, Joseph Holt, in conjunction with The Restaurant Group, will open a new microbrewery in Manchester's new £1bn 'super terminal', reports The Morning Advertiser.

Waka to open in the City of London

Waka, the Peruvian-Japanese fusion concept will open its second site next month. The new site is roughly 1,000 sq ft and located on Houndsditch Street in the City of London. Big Hospitality reports that it will solely operate as a grab-and-go location.

Preliminary figures from data company STR report a record breaking performance from London's hotels in June this year. RevPAR increased by 15.7% to £159.95, whilst ADR grew by 11.3% to £178.20. The Caterer reports that occupancy increased by 4% to 89.76% and a 1.7% growth in room supply was outstripped by a 5.7% increase in demand.
