Rarebreed Dining launches seafood concept for its fourth site

Working on behalf of Rarebreed Dining, Fleurets acquired The British Volunteer in Weybridge, Surrey, reports Propel. The site will relaunch as an 80-cover seafood restaurant, The Waverley, in February, and house an open-plan dining room, a garden room with chef's table, a gin bar, a 50-cover terrace as well as the group's head office.

Admiral Taverns acquire 137 pubs from Marston's

Admiral Taverns has acquired a portfolio of 137 community pubs from Marston's for £44.9m, reports The Caterer. The deal is supported by investors C&C Group and Proprium Capital Partners. The 137 franchised, leased and tenanted pubs have a book value of £62.6m and earnings before EBITDA of £4.8m as well as operating profit of £3.7m for the year ending 28th September 2019.

Jamaica Blue adds two more sites to UK portfolio

Foodco-owned Jamaica Blue has introduced two new UK sites, reports Propel. The seventh site has opened in Telford, whilst the eighth will open in Eastbourne in early December. Founded in Australia, Jamaica Blue operates more than 160 cafes worldwide.

Hawthorn Leisure to invest £3m in pub estate

Hawthorn Leisure, the pub division of NewRiver REIT, plans to invest at least £3m into its pub portfolio across the next six to 12 months. The Morning Advertiser reported that Hawthorn Leisure's estate presently totals 660 pubs. Net property income increased to £13.6m in the six months to 30th September, a 27% increase when compared to the same in 2018.

Planning consent granted for Liverpool hotel

Boutique Hotelier reports that Crossfield Exclusive Developments has secured planning consents for a four-star 202-bedroom hotel close to the city centre. The hotel will occupy the former Liver Grease Oil and Chemicals building and feature a gym, parking as well as a top floor restaurant with views across the river and city.

Social Entertainment Ventures has secured $20m from Acropolis Capital to expand its leisure brands in both the UK and US. Bounce will be rolled out beyond London and Chicago, whilst Flight Club will also be expanded. The funding will also help launch Hijango, a bingo concept, in London next spring. Founder Adam Breedon is also looking for new concepts to develop, with a view to scaling them internationally, reports Big Hospitality.
