Hawthorn acquires 14 pubs from Everards
The Caterer has reported that Pub company Hawthorn has announced the acquisition of 14 pubs from Everards of Leicestershire, the pub operator and family brewer. The pubs are predominantly located in suburban and neighbourhood locations in the East Midlands.

Avian flu outbreak could cause a chicken shortage in the UK
According to GRM Daily, poultry supplier Birtwistles has warned that a chicken shortage is heading to the UK after an outbreak of avian flu in Europe, with stock of chicken cuts such as breast fillets are down by 40 per cent. They have written to their customers saying that it was "urgent and necessary" to warn businesses about the looming shortages which are set to last at least 12 weeks.
Indian billionaire businessman leads acquisition of Stoke Park for £57m
Stoke Park, The luxury country club and golf resort, has been acquired by a company led by Indian billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani for £57m. According to Boutique Hotelier, Stoke Park comprises 49 bedrooms, 27-hole golf course, 13 tennis courts, together with 14 acres of private gardens and has featured in many iconic British films, from James Bond to Bridget Jones's Diary.
Caravan park acquired by expanding family business
Insider Media has advised that North Wales-based caravan park operator, the Bodafon Group, has added a fifth site on the Isle of Anglesey to its portfolio. The company has acquired the 40-acre Rhos Farm Caravan Park after a £3m investment supported by Barclays. The site offers 115 static holiday caravan pitches, seasonal touring pitches and camping.

According to the Daily Mirror, pub-goers in England have complained about pint prices soaring since boozers were allowed to reopen outdoors from April 12, with one customer claiming a pint of Peroni in Roehampton increased from £6.40 to £7.
