Puttshack founder to launch first Formula 1 entertainment venue

Adam Breeden, co-founder of mini-golf concept Puttshack, is to open the first Formula 1 licensed entertainment venue in London's St Paul's on 24 November, advises The Caterer. Breeden's Kindred Concepts has partnered with the sport to launch Formula 1 Arcade, which will feature 60 racing simulators and a range of food and drink. Breeden has a strong track record in competitive socialising concepts, having created dart-based Flight Club, ping pong bar Bounce, All Star Lanes bowling, and bingo experience Hijingo.

Inn Collection Group acquires Welsh boutique hotel

Marking the second Welsh acquisition for the team, the Inn Collection Group has purchased The Bull in Beaumaris and the adjoining Townhouse boutique hotel. Boutique Hotel News reports that this brings the group's total portfolio to 32 sites, the acquisition follows the purchase of The Swallow Falls Hotel, hostel and campsite in Snowdonia National Park in 2021. Earlier this year, The Harris Family Trusts along with Kings Park Capital acquired the Inn Collection Group in deal reportedly worth more than £300 million.

Stonegate ruling sets 'dangerous precedent'

The outcome of pub company Stonegate's legal battle against insurers MS Amlin, announced on Monday 17 October, sets a "dangerous precedent" and is "far from conclusive". Morning Advertiser reports that Stonegate brought the case against MS Amlin earlier this year seeking recovery of more than £1bn in business interruption losses following the restrictions imposed on the hospitality sector in response to the pandemic. While the court ruled in favour of the pub company on certain issues, such as for losses incurred during lockdown in March 2020, it sided in favour of the insurers with regards to claims for furlough.

Expansion plans announced by Lucky Voice

Pioneering entertainment brand Lucky Voice has revealed plans for a major programme of growth and investment which will see the business double the size of its estate over the next two years. Hospitality & Catering News report that the expansion plans come off the back of record results for the business, which specialises in buzzy cocktail bars and intimate karaoke rooms in prime city locations.

Peach Pub Company bought by Revolution for £16.5m

Revolution Bar Group has acquired The Peach Pub Company in a deal worth £16.5m, report Big Hospitality. Revolution, which currently operates 69 bars under its Revolution, Revolucion de Cuba brands, Founders & Co and Playhouse brands, has acquired the 21-strong premium pub company with a view to diversifying its growth strategy.
