Ardingly Inn set for new chapter as sale completes

10/04/2026 11:11:00

Press Release

Fleurets has completed the freehold sale of the Ardingly Inn, located in the heart of the desirable village of Ardingly, near Haywards Heath, within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The three-storey character inn, which features seven en-suite letting bedrooms, sold off a guide price of £575,000 + VAT.

The property was sold for continued use, with the new owners planning to maintain the pub's existing ambiance while fusing tradition with innovation through the introduction of an authentic Indian culinary offering.

Future plans involve a sensitive refurbishment that respects the building's heritage while introducing modern amenities to enhance the guest experience. Works will include upgrades to guest rooms, dining areas and event spaces, alongside improvements to the inn's infrastructure. Local contractors and suppliers will be used wherever possible, supporting the surrounding economy.

The new owner of the Ardingly Inn, Ashraf Shah Talukder, said: "I'm incredibly pleased to have acquired this historic inn. It has so much potential to become a premier destination for both local residents and visitors to the Showground and surrounding area. This inn holds a special place in the community, and I am committed to building upon its legacy. The previous owner's passion for the Ardingly Inn is truly inspiring, and I look forward to carrying on that legacy with care and respect."

Nick Earee, Divisional Director at Fleurets South, who handled the sale, added: "The Ardingly Inn is a highly attractive village property, benefiting from a strong setting, quality letting accommodation and clear scope for future trading potential. We are delighted to have secured a sale to a buyer with a clear vision to invest in and enhance the business, and we wish them every success for the Ardingly Inn's next chapter."

The acquisition of the Ardingly Inn marks Ashraf's second site in the area, following his purchase of The Royal Oak in Handcross, which was reopened last year as Tamasha, a premium Indian restaurant.
