The historic Mug House holds a special position fronting the River Severn in the picturesque Georgian town of Bewdley.
The leasehold was acquired by the current vendor in 2019, and that was the first time it had changed hands in 17 years. In the last five year, they have brilliantly adapted the rear patio, which has ensured this space is usable all year round, and increased the emphasis on food, which now accounts for around 55% of sales.
Due to health reasons, they have made the hard decisions to sell the leasehold, which has been brought to market by leisure property specialists Fleurets and is being offered for £195,000.
Andy Tudor, Divisional Director of Fleurets Midlands said, "The Mug House is a very successful business which our client has reluctantly decided to sell. In terms of numbers, in the year ended 30th June 2023, the business had a turnover of £1,199,798 net of VAT with a Gross Profit margin of 63.6% and healthy adjusted net profits. Further detailed accounting information will be made available to bona fide applicants."
The Mug House presents an excellent opportunity in a popular tourist town offering 115+ seated covers, 'outside garden bar', four en-suite letting rooms and a one bed manager's flat. In addition, and by way of a sperate agreement and separate landlord, the current vendors also have use of the next-door property which includes three letting rooms.
